Moonshine yarrow is a compact, clump-forming perennial reaching one to two feet tall with silvery-gray, finely divided foliage and flat-topped clusters of bright yellow flowers from early to midsummer. A hybrid of A. clypeolata and A. taygetea, it is one of the most widely grown garden yarrows for its clean color contrast and long bloom period.

Provide full sun and well-drained soil; yarrow rots in heavy, wet ground. Once established, it is notably drought-tolerant and low-maintenance. Deadhead spent flower clusters to encourage a second flush. Divide clumps every two to three years to maintain vigor. No significant pest or disease concerns in most garden settings.
