Chinese windmill palm is an exotic broadleaf from northern Myanmar and central/eastern China reaching 30 ft. It is a single-stem, erect palm with yellow flowers in June to July and slow growth. The trunk is covered in dense, brown fiber.
Windmill palm is hardy in zones 6-7 with full sun to part shade and moist, adaptable soil. It requires high maintenance in cooler climates and develops slowly over decades. This palm is one of the most cold-hardy palms available and suitable for warmer temperate regions.
